A Yellowstone Getaway

Last Monday, we left our home and headed north for a 5-day end of summer getaway in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.  We spend three days at beautiful Yellowstone National Park.

Josh was on break from college, so he came with us to make it a nice family vacation.

We stayed in West Yellowstone, Montana, here, at the Yellowstone Country Inn.

We spent three days and drove over most of the northern section of the park and stopped and saw all areas marked in green on this map.  Here are some of the pictures of this beautiful national park.

Yellowstone National Park is such a beautiful, diverse and interesting place filled with mountains, forests, lakes, streams, rivers, geothermal pools and "hot-pots" as well as wild-life. We saw bison and a black bear, but there is also deer, elk, wolves and many other animals.  It was such a wonderful, memorable trip.  We are already planning to go back and see more of the park, maybe next summer. We are planning a short trip to another national park in September, so I am really looking forward to that.

It was a nice getaway, but it is always great to be back home.  This is the gorgeous sunset Charly and I saw last night when we were out for our evening walk. God's wonder is everywhere. We just have to look for it.
